Membership of the SPESSE program is free and open to existing procurement professionals and those intending to pursue a career in procurement. Application to join the certification program is administered by the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
Individuals who wish to join the program shall first become members of CIPS. They are required to take the CIPS ethics test and log 30hrs of CPD. In addition, candidates shall be expected to fulfil the membership criteria of CIPS and be assigned an entry route for certification, based on their academic qualification and relevant experience in procurement.
Corporate organisations wishing to place their staff through the program shall submit its application to the BPP. BPP shall evaluate the application and prescribe an appropriate certification route for the candidates, based on the result of a skill gap assessment exercise.
